Noir action thriller
In 2017, six years after the events that triggered Anthony DeMarco’s wrath, a homesick Max Payne leaves exile to return to New York despite Raul Passos’s warning that they are dead men there. DeMarco’s men ambush Max at the airport, but Mona Sax intervenes after waging a six-year shadow war against the family. Max, Passos, and Mona form an uneasy alliance, escaping the transit system and uncovering DeMarco’s surveillance network before facing Sergei Lem, who seeks revenge for his brother Vlad’s death. Their final assault on the DeMarco empire leads to four distinct endings shaped by player choices and performance. Interleaved flashbacks reveal Max’s police work with Alex in 1996, Passos’s cartel rise, fall, and betrayal, and Mona’s past, her war against the DeMarcos, and the origin of her left-cheek scar.

Max Payne
